Purdue Opens NCAA Corvallis Regional With First Round Lead

Purdue moved into first place after the opening round of the NCAA Corvallis Regional at Trysting Tree Golf Club, posting a 12 under team total Monday.

Oklahoma and Arkansas are tied for second at 9 under, while host Oregon State sits fourth at 8 under through 18 holes.

Charlotte and San Diego are tied for fifth at 4 under, followed by Xavier at 3 under. Liberty and Georgia Southern share eighth at 2 under, while Texas Tech and UCLA are tied for 10th at 1 under. 

Washington individual Emil Borrestuen Herstad holds the individual lead after an opening round 5 under performance. Purdue’s Sam Easterbrook and Kentaro Nanayama are tied for second alongside Kansas State individual Alex Lindstrom, Charlotte’s Justin Matthews, and Oklahoma golfer Ryder Cowan at 4 under. 

Oregon State’s Stanley Lin, Purdue golfer Supapon Amornchaichan, San Diego’s You Seong Choi, and Arkansas standout Gerardo Gomez are tied for seventh at 3 under entering round two.
