Stroke play has concluded at the Big South Men’s Golf Championship at Ocean Creek Golf Course at Fripp Island Resort in South Carolina, with Presbyterian earning the top seed and Charleston Southern’s Dewi John claiming individual medalist honors heading into match play.
Presbyterian finished at 4 under following rounds of 2 under, even par, and 2 under to lead the field. USC Upstate secured the No. 2 seed at 3 under. Winthrop and High Point tied for third at 1 under, rounding out the four teams advancing to match play.
Match play begins tomorrow with the following semifinals:
No. 1 Presbyterian vs No. 4 High Point
No. 2 USC Upstate vs No. 3 Winthrop
Charleston Southern placed fifth at 5 over, followed by Gardner Webb at 6 over. Longwood finished seventh at 11 over, and Radford placed eighth at 13 over.
In the individual standings, Dewi John of Charleston Southern captured medalist honors at 7 under with rounds of 2 under, 3 under, and 2 under. USC Upstate’s Alec Prentice, Presbyterian’s Jeep Patrick, and Winthrop’s Ashton Eubanks tied for second at 5 under.
Gardner Webb’s Jack Boyer and Winthrop’s Dylan Park tied for fifth at 4 under, while Gardner Webb’s Jude Carper finished seventh at 3 under. Longwood’s Matthew Hartley and High Point’s James Hassell tied for eighth at 2 under, and Presbyterian’s Spence Hagood rounded out the top 10 at 1 under.
