Parker Sands of Florida captured the 122nd Trans Mississippi Amateur Championship on Friday at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Sands closed with a 1 over 72 to finish at 10 under 274. He began the championship with a 64 and followed with rounds of 70 and 68 before securing a two shot victory.
Hugo Thyr, a South Alabama alumnus, and Oklahoma’s Ryder Cowan tied for second at 8 under 276. Thyr posted a final round 69, while Cowan finished with a 72.
Wake Forest’s Nicholas Prieto moved into a tie for fourth after shooting a 69 to finish at 4 under 280. TCU’s Sam Udovich also shared fourth following a closing 73.
Georgia Tech’s Max Emberson and Washington’s Jacob Goode tied for sixth at 3 under 281. San Diego’s Cooper Humphreys placed eighth at 2 under 282, while South Carolina’s Marek Fleming and Kayun Mudadana tied for ninth at 1 under 283.
