The final stage of qualifying for the 2026 U.S. Open will take place June 8 as players compete in Golf’s Longest Day, the annual 36 hole qualifier that awards spots into the championship field at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York.
Ten sites across North America will host final qualifying on June 8, while three additional qualifiers were contested earlier this spring in England, Texas, and Japan. The USGA is expected to award approximately 60 to 70 spots into the 156 player field through final qualifying.

- Lambton Golf and Country Club (Toronto, Ontario)
- The Lakes Golf and Country Club (Westerville, Ohio)

Players who advanced through local qualifying earned the opportunity to compete in the one day, 36 hole final qualifier. The format has become one of the most demanding tests in golf, with competitors walking both rounds and often facing playoffs for the final qualifying positions.
The 2026 U.S. Open is scheduled for June 18 through June 21 at Shinnecock Hills, which will host the championship for the sixth time. The venue remains the only course to stage the U.S. Open across three different centuries.
Golf Channel is expected to provide coverage of Golf’s Longest Day, while live scoring will be available through the USGA as players attempt to secure one of the final places in the championship field.
