UNLV captured the Mountain West Men’s Golf Championship at Omni Tucson National Resort in Tucson, Arizona, defeating New Mexico in a team playoff on the par 4 18th hole after both teams finished tied at 39 under.
UNLV posted rounds of 9 under, 18 under, and 12 under to match New Mexico, which closed with rounds of 6 under, 13 under, and 20 under to force the playoff. San Diego State finished third at 35 under, followed by Grand Canyon in fourth at 31 under and Wyoming in fifth at 30 under.
San Jose State placed sixth at 28 under, with Nevada in seventh at 25 under. Colorado State finished eighth at 22 under, Fresno State placed ninth at 12 under, and Boise State rounded out the top ten at 6 under.
In the individual standings, UNLV’s Zach Little earned medalist honors at 17 under with rounds of 3 under, 6 under, and 8 under. San Diego State’s Tyler Kowack finished second at 16 under, while teammate Harry Takis placed third at 13 under.
New Mexico’s Johnnie Clark and Wyoming’s Brody Leid tied for fourth at 12 under. Grand Canyon’s Måns Boje and San Jose State’s Avinash Iyer tied for sixth at 10 under.
Nevada’s Jonathan Kim, New Mexico’s Thayer Plewe, and UNLV’s Trevor Lewis tied for eighth at 9 under.
