West Florida Men and Lee Women Win Gulf South Titles

The Gulf South Conference Championships concluded at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee, with West Florida winning the men’s title and Lee capturing the women’s championship.

In the men’s championship, West Florida finished at 22 under with rounds of 4 under, 7 under, and 11 under to secure a one shot victory over Lee, which placed second at 21 under. Union Tennessee finished third at 7 under, followed by Mississippi College at 4 over. Valdosta State and Trevecca Nazarene tied for fifth at 8 over. Delta State was seventh at 29 over, Christian Brothers eighth at 36 over, and Montevallo ninth at 48 over.

In the individual standings, Lane Carr of Union Tennessee and Joao Iglesias of Mississippi College tied for second at 9 under. West Florida’s Per Ekelund finished fourth at 6 under. Bennett McNabb and Billy Boroughs of Lee, along with West Florida’s Cooper Tendick and TJ Thompson, tied for fifth at 5 under. Valdosta State’s Alexander Nilehn placed ninth at 3 under, and Union Tennessee’s Andrew Westmoreland finished 10th at 2 under.

On the women’s side, Lee secured the team title at 39 over, finishing one shot ahead of West Florida at 40 over. Montevallo placed third at 47 over, followed by Union Tennessee at 63 over and Mississippi College at 65 over. Trevecca Nazarene finished sixth at 78 over, Christian Brothers seventh at 92 over, AUM eighth at 120 over, and Spring Hill ninth at 183 over.

In the individual standings, West Florida’s Millie Thompson led at 4 over. Christian Brothers’ Cesilee Mokry finished second at 6 over. Montevallo’s Angelina Oliveri and Lee’s Justine Emond tied for third at 7 over. Emilia Nordström and Hannah Nall of Lee, along with Union Tennessee’s Abigail Fernandez, tied for fifth at 8 over. West Florida’s Isabela Urruchua and Samantha Schultz tied for eighth at 11 over, while Mississippi College’s Sydney Moss finished 10th at 12 over.
