Round one of the Mountain West Women’s Golf Championship is complete at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, with San Jose State and Colorado State tied for the team lead and Kara Kaneshiro and Alexis Vakasiuola atop the individual standings.
San Jose State and Colorado State lead the field at 3 over after the opening round. UNLV and Grand Canyon are tied for third at 4 over. Nevada sits fifth at 6 over, followed by Wyoming at 11 over. New Mexico is seventh at 14 over, with Boise State at 15 over and San Diego State at 17 over. Fresno State rounds out the top 10 at 26 over.
In the individual standings, Colorado State’s Kara Kaneshiro and Grand Canyon’s Alexis Vakasiuola share the lead at 4 under. Boise State’s Leia Chung is third at 3 under. San Jose State’s Lotte Schuhr and Tessa Kremser are tied for fourth at 1 under.
