West Florida Leads Gulf South Championships After Round One, Iglesias and Thompson Share Individual Leads

Round one of the Gulf South Conference Championships is complete at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee, with West Florida leading both the men’s and women’s team standings.

In the men’s championship, West Florida leads at 4 under after the opening round. Mississippi College is second at 3 under, followed by Lee at 1 under. Valdosta State sits fourth at 2 over, with Union Tennessee fifth at 3 over. Trevecca Nazarene is sixth at 9 over, followed by Christian Brothers at 13 over. Delta State is eighth at 14 over, and Montevallo is ninth at 23 over.

In the individual standings, Mississippi College’s Joao Iglesias leads at 6 under. Union Tennessee’s Trace Robinson is second at 3 under. William Carestam of Valdosta State, Cooper Tendick and TJ Thompson of West Florida, and Todd Mckie of Mississippi College are tied for third at 2 under. Lee’s Drew Zielinski and George Cordall are tied for seventh at 1 under. Lee’s Bennett McNabb and Union Tennessee’s Lane Carr are tied for ninth at even par.
