USC Edges California to Win Western Intercollegiate, Buchanan Shares Medalist Honors

USC secured the team title at the Western Intercollegiate, finishing at 13 under and holding off California by one shot at Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz, California.

The Trojans used a second round 16 under performance to separate from the field and maintained the lead through the final round. California finished second at 12 under, while UNLV and BYU tied for third at 8 under. Arizona and Stanford shared fifth at 6 under.

At the individual level, USC’s Jack Buchanan and Stanford’s Dean Greyserman finished tied at 10 under to share medalist honors. Buchanan opened with rounds of 67 and 62 before closing with a final round 73. Greyserman climbed the leaderboard with a closing 62 to match the lead.

San Diego State’s Harry Takis and Arizona’s Taishi Moto tied for third at 9 under. BYU’s Kihei Akina finished fifth at 7 under, followed by USC’s Jaden Dumdumaya at 6 under.

Chattanooga’s Evan Rogers, Stanford’s Jay Leng, and San Jose State’s Ivan Barahona tied for seventh at 5 under. California’s Charlie Bundy rounded out the top 10 at 4 under.
