UTSA sophomore Victoria Schuldt has carried the momentum from an All American Conference freshman season into the start of her second year with the Roadrunners.
The Hamburg, Germany native opened the 2026 to 2027 season by earning a share of the individual championship at The Bruzzy, finishing at 10 under with rounds of 68, 67 and 71. The performance marked the first collegiate victory of her career and included a UTSA record for the lowest 36 hole score.
Schuldt’s early sophomore success follows a freshman campaign in which she competed in all 11 tournaments, earned All American Conference recognition and finished tied for fifth at the conference championship.

Developing Her Game in Germany
Schuldt was introduced to golf at age eight through her parents, who both played the game. Some of her earliest memories in the sport came from trips to the driving range with her father, where she learned fundamentals such as gripping the club, aiming and striking the ball. Pasted text
Golf was only part of her athletic background. Schuldt also played tennis and spent years competing in field hockey, which was her primary sport until she was 14.
She said field hockey helped her understand teamwork and develop athletically, while some of its movements also translated to her golf swing. When the COVID pandemic interrupted contact sports, Schuldt began spending more time playing golf and eventually shifted her focus toward the game. Pasted text
Her junior golf career included repeated success at the Hanseatic International Youth Open, a U18 Girls State Championship and selection to the German National Development Team.
Schuldt also gained valuable team experience with Hamburg Falkenstein, helping the club win the 2024 German Team Championship. She described playing for the club as an opportunity to compete for something beyond herself while learning from more experienced players. Pasted text
Making the Move to UTSA
When evaluating her college options, Schuldt said UTSA stood out because of the personal connection she developed with the coaching staff before arriving on campus.

Immediate Impact as a Freshman
Schuldt competed in all 11 tournaments during her first season at UTSA, posting a 75.64 scoring average across 33 rounds and earning All American Conference honors.
Her season included a 4 under 212 at the MountainView Collegiate and an even par 216 at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate. She also recorded the first sub 70 round of her college career with a 69 at the Chevron Collegiate.
Schuldt finished the season tied for fifth at the American Conference Championship with rounds of 72, 73 and 74.
Her path into the lineup was not automatic. Schuldt recalled missing qualifying for her first college tournament before receiving a coach’s selection into the lineup. After gaining that initial experience, she began earning her place more regularly through qualifying. Pasted text
Rather than feeling pressure to immediately establish herself, Schuldt said UTSA’s coaches encouraged her to use her freshman season as an opportunity to learn. She also credited the team’s chemistry and support from the program’s upperclassmen with helping her adjust. Pasted text
Developing a More Complete Game
One of Schuldt’s biggest areas of development since arriving at UTSA has been her approach play.
She focused on improving her ball striking, creating better opportunities into greens and generating more birdie chances. Her short game also developed as she became more comfortable playing on Bermuda grass, which required an adjustment after growing up playing in Europe. Pasted text

First Collegiate Victory at The Bruzzy
Schuldt opened the 2026 to 2027 season by earning a share of the championship at The Bruzzy at Trophy Club Country Club in Trophy Club, Texas.
She posted rounds of 68 and 67 to reach 9 under through two rounds. Her 135 established a UTSA record for the lowest 36 hole score.
Schuldt closed with a 1 under 71 to finish at 10 under 206 and earn her first collegiate victory in a five player tie for the championship.
Her final round included four birdies, with three coming during a four hole stretch on the front nine. She also recorded two eagles during the second round, finished the tournament with 10 birdies and played the par fives at 8 under.
The 206 tied for the fifth best 54 hole total in UTSA history.
UTSA finished second in the team competition at 23 under 841, the second best 54 hole score relative to par in program history.
