Florida Southern Opens 2026 – 2027 Season at No. 1 in Division II Coaches Poll

Defending national champion Florida Southern will begin the 2026 to 2027 men’s college golf season at No. 1 in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll.

The Mocs received 13 first place votes and 430 points in the preseason rankings released September 4 by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Florida Southern enters the season after winning its 14th NCAA Division II national championship on May 22. The Mocs are scheduled to begin their title defense at the National Preview on September 28 and 29.

Florida Southern Leads the Top Five

Lee opens at No. 2 after receiving two first place votes and 398 points. Georgia Southwestern follows at No. 3 with 387 points.

Grand Valley State begins the season at No. 4, while Columbus State rounds out the top five.

Wingate received one first place vote and starts at No. 6. Nova Southeastern, Lincoln Memorial, Catawba and Central Oklahoma complete the preseason top 10.

Another 34 programs received votes outside the Top 25.

Harding led that group with 58 points, followed by Rollins with 56 and Western Washington with 50. Central Missouri received 42 points, while Flagler collected 36 and Lynn received 35.

Cal State East Bay, Anderson, Lander, CSU Monterey Bay, Washburn, Colorado School of Mines, Findlay, Carson Newman, Tampa, Dominican, Lenoir Rhyne, Valdosta State, Hawai’i Pacific, Cameron, Hawai’i Hilo, Jessup, Wayne State, Newberry, Oklahoma Christian, Menlo, UT Tyler, Eckerd, Midwestern State, Missouri S&T, UTPB, Embry Riddle, Emmanuel and Fairmont State also received votes.

Florida Southern now enters the new season with the No. 1 ranking as the Mocs begin their pursuit of another Division II national championship.
