Asterisk Talley produced one of the standout amateur performances at the 2026 U.S. Women’s Open, firing a third round 66 at Riviera Country Club to set the championship record for the lowest weekend round by an amateur. The Stanford commit opened her round with birdies on the first and third holes before adding another at the par 3 sixth. She reached 4 under for the day with a birdie on the 10th and closed with another birdie on the par 5 17th to finish with a 5 under 66.
Talley’s round moved her to 1 under par for the championship entering the final round. She ultimately finished tied for 22nd at 2 over par after rounds of 71, 75, 66, and 74.
Talley was one of five amateurs to finish inside the top 34 at Riviera. Kiara Romero led the group with a tie for sixth at 1 under, while Maria Jose Marin tied for eighth at 2 under. Aphrodite Deng finished tied for 17th at even par, and Farah O’Keefe tied for 34th at 4 over.
