Vanderbilt claimed the NCAA Athens Regional title at the University of Georgia Golf Course after finishing at 28 under par. Louisville followed at 26 under, while Auburn finished third at 22 under. Brigham Young secured fourth at 20 under, and host Georgia grabbed the final qualifying position at 19 under to advance to the NCAA Men’s Championship.
Charleston narrowly missed advancing after finishing one shot behind Georgia at 18 under. Southern Miss closed the week at 10 under, while Northwestern and Harvard tied for eighth at 9 under.
Will Hartman of Vanderbilt shared medalist honors with Louisiana individual Malan Potgieter at 14 under par. Hartman posted rounds of 68, 64, and 70, while Potgieter carded rounds of 67, 66, and 69.
Louisville’s Cooper Claycomb finished third individually at 12 under. Auburn’s Josiah Gilbert and Harvard’s Barry Zhang tied for fourth at 11 under, while Southern Miss golfer Jake Moffitt placed sixth at 10 under. Vanderbilt’s Jon Ed Steed finished seventh at 9 under.
