DBU captured its second consecutive NCAA Division II Women’s Golf National Championship on Saturday with a 5 to 0 victory over Anderson at PGA National Resort. The title marks DBU’s fourth national championship in the last six seasons.

The Patriots controlled the championship match throughout the day, with four players holding leads at the turn. Sidney Robertson secured the opening point for DBU with a 4 up victory over Aly Francis in Match 1 after extending her advantage on the back nine.

Gracie Grant followed with a 13 up win against Olivia Roberts after entering the back nine with a three shot lead. Chloe Sirkin added the third point for DBU, defeating Olivia Pellerin 5 up after a steady closing stretch that included seven consecutive pars.

Madison Ude completed a late comeback against Kennedy Gooding. Trailing through 16 holes, Ude won the final two holes to secure a 3 up victory. Ella Cheek, the No. 2 ranked player nationally, closed out the sweep with a 17 up win against Paige Paolucci, sealing DBU’s second straight national title.

DBU became the first NCAA Division II women’s golf program to repeat as national champions since Lynn in 2013 and 2014. The Patriots are also the first program across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III to win back to back national championships since Rhodes won consecutive Division III titles in 2016 and 2017.

The championship was the 98th career tournament victory for head coach Kenny Trapp. DBU’s four national titles are tied with Florida Southern and Nova Southeastern for the second most in Division II history.
