USC Upstate Leads Big South Men’s Championship After Round One, Alec Prentice Holds Individual Lead

Round one of the Big South Men’s Golf Championship is complete at Ocean Creek Golf Course at Fripp Island Resort in South Carolina, with USC Upstate holding the early team lead and Alec Prentice setting the pace individually.

USC Upstate leads the field at 3 under after the opening round. Presbyterian sits one shot back at 2 under, while Gardner Webb and Longwood are tied for third at 1 under. Radford and High Point are tied for fifth at 3 over. Winthrop and Charleston Southern are tied for seventh at 4 over.

In the individual standings, USC Upstate’s Alec Prentice leads at 5 under. Radford’s CJ Peterson is second at 4 under. High Point’s Shlok Jain and Longwood’s Matthew Hartley are tied for third at 3 under.

Three players are tied for fifth at 2 under including Presbyterian’s James Rhodes, Charleston Southern’s Dewi John, and Gardner Webb’s Brandon Heffner. USC Upstate’s Phuthanate Kangwol, Presbyterian’s Spence Hagood, and Longwood’s David Lafreniere are tied for eighth at 1 under.
