South Carolina’s Frankie Harris, Auburn’s Jackson Koivun, and TCU’s Nathan Miller have been selected as finalists for the February Golfer of the Month honor presented by the Ben Hogan Award.
Harris claimed the Puerto Rico Classic in his only February start, posting rounds of 67, 67, and 66 to finish at 15 under and win by one shot. The victory marked his fifth collegiate title, tying South Carolina’s program record. He earned 21.0 WAGR points and recorded a 66.67 scoring average for the month.
Koivun secured two wins, beginning with a five shot victory at the Amer Ari Invitational at 25 under (62, 62, 67). The performance set Auburn’s 54 hole scoring record and included a 36 hole total that surpassed the previous NCAA mark. He followed with a win at the Gators Invitational at 9 under, giving him a program record seven career victories. Koivun totaled 45.4 WAGR points and averaged 66.67 across six rounds.
Miller shared medalist honors at the Watersound Invitational with rounds of 69, 66, and 66 to finish at 9 under. He later placed T16 at the Palmas del Mar Collegiate at 3 under. The freshman earned 21.6 WAGR points and posted a 69.00 scoring average over six rounds.
The winner will be determined by the Ben Hogan Award committee, with fan voting contributing an additional vote. The announcement is expected later this week.
