USC senior Catherine Park enters the GameAbove Golf Invitational as one of the most accomplished players in women’s collegiate golf. The Irvine, California native has built an elite résumé during her time with the Trojans, combining major collegiate victories, All American honors, and consistent low scoring.
Now in her final collegiate season, Park will help lead USC as a co host of the inaugural GameAbove Golf Invitational at Rolling Hills Country Club in Rolling Hills Estates, California. The event brings together one of the strongest early spring fields in Division I women’s golf while giving USC the opportunity to compete at a course the program regularly practices on.
Park arrives at the event ranked among the top amateur players in the world and continues to anchor the Trojans lineup heading into the final stretch of the season.
Elite Collegiate Career
Park has been one of the most consistent players in USC women’s golf history since arriving on campus.
Across her career she has recorded five collegiate victories, a career scoring average of 71.35, and 23 top 10 finishes. Her ability to produce extremely low rounds has been a defining part of her game, highlighted by 29 rounds in the 60s and a career low round of 63.
Her freshman season immediately placed her among the top players in collegiate golf. Park finished runner up at the NCAA Championships and recorded four top 10 finishes while earning All American honorable mention honors.
She followed that with a dominant sophomore season that included WGCA and Golfweek First Team All American honors. Park won three tournaments that season including the Pac 12 Championship, where she set the tournament single round record with a 64 and finished the event 15 under par.
During her junior season she continued to elevate her performance, earning WGCA and Golfweek Second Team All American honors while setting USC single season records for top 10 finishes and rounds of par or better. She also finished tied for fifth at the NCAA Championships and tied for fourth at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
Strong Senior Season
Park has continued her strong play during the 2025 to 26 season.
She captured the title at the Alice and John Wallace Women’s Golf Classic with rounds of 69, 68, and 65 to finish 11 under par. The performance demonstrated her ability to produce extremely low scoring rounds against strong competition.
She also finished runner up at the Stanford Intercollegiate with rounds of 70, 66, and 68 and added a top 15 finish at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate.
As USC enters the spring portion of the schedule, Park remains one of the team’s most experienced players and a key leader in the Trojans lineup.
Interview Highlights with CGN
Hosting the GameAbove Golf Invitational
Park described the opportunity to host the GameAbove Golf Invitational as an exciting moment for USC.
While the Trojans practice regularly at Rolling Hills Country Club, tournament play will still present new challenges. The course features wide fairways but requires precise positioning off the tee to create favorable approach angles into the large greens.
According to Park, distance control and speed on the greens will be critical because the expansive putting surfaces can easily produce three putts if players lose control of pace.
Team Depth and Competition
USC’s lineup for the event was determined through several qualifying rounds, reflecting the depth of the Trojans roster.
Park explained that the internal competition within the team helps push each player to improve while also strengthening the team dynamic throughout the season.
Relationship With USC Coach Justin Silverstein
Park also spoke about her close relationship with USC head coach Justin Silverstein.
Silverstein has worked closely with her throughout her career, often walking practice rounds and helping analyze performance through detailed statistical data and course strategy.
Park credits that approach with helping her better understand her tendencies and improve her decision making during tournaments.
Augusta National Women’s Amateur
Park will return to the Augusta National Women’s Amateur this spring, where she previously finished tied for fourth.
She noted that the tournament presents a unique challenge because conditions change each year, making adaptability and execution under pressure essential.
Turning Professional
Following the conclusion of her collegiate career, Park plans to turn professional and begin competing on the Epson Tour.
She said she is excited about the transition to professional golf and the opportunity to focus fully on tournament play.
