The Women’s Golf Coaches Association and the Golf Coaches Association of America have announced the launch of Folds Week, a nationwide initiative scheduled for March 16 through March 20 in collaboration with Folds of Honor.
The initiative will bring collegiate golf programs together to raise awareness and support educational scholarships for the families of military service members and first responders who have fallen or been disabled while serving.
During Folds Week, WGCA and GCAA member programs will promote the effort through team activities, social media engagement, and recognition during competitions. Schools will also participate in the Honor Bag Tag program, which allows coaches, student athletes, and supporters to visibly support military and first responder families while contributing to scholarship funding.
The collaboration also highlights the Patriot All America Invitational, a collegiate event where participants compete while honoring a specific fallen or disabled military service member or first responder.
Folds of Honor provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of military members and first responders who have been killed or disabled in the line of duty. Since 2007, the organization has awarded nearly 73,000 scholarships totaling about $340 million across the United States.
