Arkansas senior John Daly II will make his first PGA Tour start at the Puerto Rico Open after being added to the field at Grand Reserve Golf Club. The appearance marks the next step in his competitive progression as he gains experience at the professional level.
The son of two time major champion John Daly, Daly II first gained national attention while competing alongside his father at the PNC Championship. The father and son pairing won the event in 2021, a performance that introduced Daly II to a wider audience within the golf world.
The Puerto Rico Open will mark his first official PGA Tour start. Daly II has previously competed in a PGA Tour sanctioned event at the 2024 Compliance Solutions Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour, where he did not advance past the cut.
The tournament takes place at Grand Reserve Golf Club and offers the winner three hundred FedEx Cup points along with a share of the four million dollar purse. The event is played during the same week as the Arnold Palmer Invitational, which is one of the PGA Tour’s Signature Events.
For Daly II, the opportunity represents an important step as he transitions from junior and developmental competition into PGA Tour events.
