Eastern Michigan seniors Jasmine and Janae Leovao enter their final collegiate season together with extensive NCAA postseason experience, conference championships, and professional ambitions in motion.
The twin sisters from Oceanside, California transferred to Eastern Michigan for their final year of eligibility after standout careers at Long Beach State. Now, they return to Southern California to compete in and help co host the GameAbove Golf Invitational at Rolling Hills Country Club on March 9 and 10.
Championship Pedigree
Jasmine, a two time Big West Conference Champion and Big West Freshman of the Year, competed in three NCAA Regionals and advanced to the 2024 NCAA Championships as an individual. During the 2024 to 25 season, she improved her national ranking by 146 spots, finishing ranked 97 in Scoreboard Clippd after reaching as high as 62. She recorded 11 top 20 finishes in 12 events, including three top five finishes.
Janae earned First Team and Second Team All Big West honors and qualified for two NCAA Regionals. She was the top individual at the 2025 NCAA Gold Canyon Regional, finishing tied for eighth. Last season, she recorded 12 top 25 finishes in 12 events and improved her national ranking by 163 spots.
Both players hold World Amateur Golf Rankings and have consistently competed against national level fields.
Transferring Together
Jasmine entered the transfer portal seeking a stronger team environment and national contention. Janae initially hesitated but ultimately joined her sister, and both landed at Eastern Michigan under head coach Josh Brewer.
Family support, professional goals, and the opportunity to compete together in their final collegiate season played a significant role in the decision.
Competitive Identity
Janae credits her consistency to discipline and structured preparation, focusing on controllable details throughout tournament weeks. Jasmine points to experience and repetition as the key drivers behind her national ranking jump, emphasizing trust in preparation and confidence built through competitive reps.
The sisters maintain a competitive dynamic, pushing one another in practice while supporting each other in tournament play.
GameAbove Golf Invitational Spotlight
The GameAbove Golf Invitational, co hosted by Eastern Michigan and USC, will be played March 9 and 10 at Rolling Hills Country Club in Rolling Hills Estates, California. The event provides a high level early spring test and a professional style competitive environment.

Professional Path
Both Jasmine and Janae advanced through the first stage of LPGA Q School last fall and secured Epson Tour status. Following graduation, they plan to turn professional.
