Jackson Koivun continues to put together one of the most dominant stretches in Auburn men’s golf history.
The junior claimed individual medalist honors at the 2026 Gator Invitational on Sunday at Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Florida, finishing at nine under par (201) to win by two strokes. The victory marked the seventh individual win of Koivun’s Auburn career, setting a new program record and breaking the previous mark held by Jimmy Green.
Koivun, the world’s No. 1 ranked amateur, set the tone immediately with a six under 64 in the opening round, carding birdies on holes 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, and 15 to take early control of the leaderboard. He followed with rounds of 69 and 68 to close out the win and earn low medalist honors for the second consecutive event.
Koivun finished two shots clear of USF’s Wilhelm Ryding, continuing what has been a blazing start to Auburn’s spring slate. Just one week earlier, Koivun won the Amer Ari Invitational at 25 under par, taking the title by five shots while breaking a Tiger Woods record in the process.
With his latest win, Koivun has now won at least twice in every season of his Auburn career, further cementing his status as the top player in college golf and a frontrunner once again for the Fred Haskins Award. Koivun previously captured the Haskins in 2024, an honor awarded annually to the top collegiate player in the country. Only three golfers in the award’s history have won it multiple times: Ben Crenshaw, Bobby Clampett, and Phil Mickelson.
As a team, Auburn finished second in the standings at 13 under par, trailing host Florida, which won the tournament at 27 under. Oklahoma State finished third.
Jake Albert turned in another strong week for the Tigers, finishing tied for third at six under par. Albert posted rounds of 64, 68, and 72 to remain in contention throughout the tournament.
Auburn will return to action March 1 to 3 at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas, where the Tigers will look to defend their team title.
