Pepperdine Cruises to Southwestern Invitational Title at North Ranch

Pepperdine controlled the Southwestern Invitational from start to finish, capturing the team title by 17 shots at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, California.

The No. 15 Waves closed the three round event at eleven under par 829 with rounds of 273, 271, and 285. Despite a five over final round, Pepperdine was never challenged and secured its fourth team victory at the event, adding to wins in 2006, 2017, and 2020.

San Diego State finished second at six over par 846, while UNLV placed third at seven over 847. Washington followed in fourth at sixteen over, with San Diego and Southern California tied for fifth at eighteen over.

Pepperdine’s advantage came from depth throughout the lineup. Senior Brady Siravo led the Waves with a runner up individual finish at five under par 205. Willy Walsh finished tied for fourth at two under, and Byungho Lee placed tied for sixth at one under. Mahanth Chirravuri added a tie for eleventh at one over.

Individual medalist honors went to San Diego State sophomore Harry Takis, who posted a two shot victory at seven under 203 after closing with an even par final round. UCLA’s Baylor Larrabee finished third at three under, while UNLV’s Ryan Abuan and Pepperdine’s Walsh shared fourth.

The win continues Pepperdine’s strong history at the Southwestern Invitational, a tournament where past Waves standout Sahith Theegala claimed both team and individual titles in 2017 and 2020 before earning college golf’s top national awards.
