Appalachian State Mountaineers Men’s Golf Adds Holt Allison as Assistant Coach

App State men’s golf has added Holt Allison to its coaching staff as an assistant coach, head coach John Michael Cole announced Thursday.

A native of Conover North Carolina, Allison joins the Mountaineers after completing a decorated playing career at Lenoir Rhyne. He concluded his collegiate tenure as a senior with honorable mention All America recognition from PING, All Southeast Region honors, and first team All SAC selection. Allison was a four year starter and served as a team captain.

During his time at Lenoir Rhyne, Allison helped guide the Bears to the first NCAA Regional appearance in program history in 2024, followed by a second consecutive berth in 2025. The Bears finished the season ranked No. 22 nationally and recorded eight top five team finishes, including a victory at the Lenoir Rhyne Fall Invitational.

Individually, Allison posted three wins and eight top ten finishes across 11 events during his final season. He recorded a 70.7 adjusted scoring average, earned two outright victories, and tied for first at the Bearcat Spring Invitational. He finished the year ranked No. 22 individually in Division II and No. 7 in the Southeast Region. Allison was also a multiple time GCAA All America Scholar.

Allison earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management from Lenoir Rhyne in May 2024 and completed his Master of Business Administration in May 2025.
