CGN Player Highlight and Interview: Samantha Galantini’s Path to Quinnipiac and the Space Coast Classic

Quinnipiac junior Samantha Galantini enters the spring season as one of the steady leaders in the Bobcats lineup, shaped by early exposure to the game, a competitive junior golf background in New Jersey, and a disciplined mental approach that has defined her collegiate career.

Originally from West Orange, New Jersey, Galantini began playing golf at age two under the guidance of her father. Growing up in one of the most competitive junior golf regions in the country, she developed through a demanding tournament schedule that prepared her for the transition to college golf.

After joining Rock Spring Country Club, Galantini trained for nearly a decade under longtime coach Baker Madera, building a technical foundation that carried her through high school and into the recruiting process.

College Recruitment and Choosing Quinnipiac

Galantini’s recruitment took place during the COVID era, when roster space across the country was limited. Her opportunity emerged at the Northern Junior in Connecticut, where Quinnipiac head coach Andrew O’Connor evaluated her performance in person.

A subsequent campus visit confirmed the fit both academically and athletically, leading her to commit to the Bobcats.

Collegiate Development and Leadership

Since arriving at Quinnipiac, Galantini has established herself as a consistent presence in the lineup and a trusted leader within a balanced team environment. She competes within a system that emphasizes shared responsibility and depth across the roster rather than reliance on a single player.

Her approach centers on patience, control, and long term decision making over multiple rounds.
