Round two of the 100th South Atlantic Women’s Amateur Championship concluded at Oceanside Country Club in Ormond Beach Florida, with Mia Hammond of Duke opening a commanding lead at the top of the leaderboard.
Hammond followed her opening round 66 with an eight under par 64 to move to fourteen under par 130 through two rounds. She holds a six shot advantage heading into the final round of the championship known as the Sally.
Kary Hollenbaugh of Ohio State sits in second place at eight under par 136 after posting a two over par 70 in round two.
Amelie Zalsman of Wake Forest and Katelyn Huber of Florida are tied for third at seven under par 137. Zalsman carded a six under par 66, while Huber followed her opening round with a seven under par 65 to move up the leaderboard.
Alexandra Phung stands alone in fifth at four under par 140 after a five under par 67 in round two. Ines Archer of Florida is sixth at three under par 141 following a second round 67.
Two players are tied for seventh at two under par 142, including Alexandra Snyder and Maura Peters of Iowa. Krishny Elwin of Oklahoma and Alexandra Gazzoli of Florida State round out the top ten at one under par 143.
With one round remaining, Hammond holds control of the championship as the field heads into the final day at Oceanside Country Club.
