South Carolina Women and Texas Men Claim 2026 Jackson T. Stephens Cup Titles

South Carolina women’s golf and Texas men’s golf closed the 2026 Jackson T. Stephens Cup with championship victories Wednesday at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco.

South Carolina defeated Wake Forest 3 to 2 to capture the first Stephens Cup championship in program history, while Texas defeated Texas A&M 3 to 1 to earn the men’s title.

South Carolina Defeats Wake Forest for Women’s Championship

South Carolina secured three individual match victories to defeat Wake Forest 3 to 2 in the women’s championship match.

Senior Vairana Heck delivered the Gamecocks’ first point with a 6 and 4 victory over Havanna Torstensson. Freshman Amelia Harris followed with a 1 up win over two time Stephens Cup individual champion Macy Pate, putting South Carolina ahead 2 to 0.

Wake Forest responded when Chloe Kovelesky defeated Eila Galitsky 6 and 5, but sophomore Molly McLean delivered the championship clinching point for South Carolina. McLean defeated Benedicte Brent Petersen 3 and 1 to secure the program’s first Stephens Cup title.

The victory marked South Carolina’s 49th team championship in program history and its 33rd under head coach Kalen Anderson.

Texas Tops Texas A&M for Men’s Title

Texas completed a dominant week with a 3 to 1 victory over Texas A&M in the men’s championship match.

Junior Eduardo Derbez Torres earned the first point for the Longhorns with a 4 and 2 victory over Kris Kuvaas. Texas A&M answered when Landon Ashcraft defeated Adam Villanueva 6 and 4 to even the match.

Daniel Bennett then delivered a key point for Texas. After entering the 18th hole all square against Aaron Pounds, Bennett made birdie to earn a 1 up victory.

Freshman Brooks Harper clinched the championship with a 4 and 3 win over Wheaton Ennis. Matt Comegys held a 2 up advantage over Shiv Parmar through 15 holes when the remaining match was stopped following Harper’s clinching victory.

Texas entered match play as the top seed after finishing the 54 hole stroke play portion at 25 under, 21 shots ahead of Texas A&M. Bennett and Comegys also shared individual medalist honors at 9 under.

Championship Week Complete at PGA Frisco

Texas capped its week with both the men’s team championship and shared individual honors from Bennett and Comegys. South Carolina, which entered the women’s match play portion as the No. 2 seed, completed its run by defeating top seeded Wake Forest for its first Stephens Cup championship.

Earlier in the week, Wake Forest’s Macy Pate and Texas’ Farah O’Keefe shared the women’s individual title at 4 under.

The victories bring the 2026 Jackson T. Stephens Cup to a close, with South Carolina taking the women’s championship and Texas claiming the men’s championship.
