Auburn surged into the lead after the second round of the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California.
The Tigers followed an opening round 4 under total with a 16 under second round to reach 20 under par overall, holding an eight shot advantage entering the weekend.
Texas and Vanderbilt are tied for second at 12 under par. Texas posted an 11 under second round, while Vanderbilt matched the Longhorns with an 11 under performance on Saturday.
UCLA and Oklahoma State share fourth at 7 under overall. Oklahoma State climbed the leaderboard after recording a 14 under second round, the second best team score of the day.
Duke, Virginia, and Arizona sit tied for sixth at 4 under, while Pepperdine and North Carolina round out the top 10 at 1 under par.
Arizona’s Filip Jakubcik moved into the individual lead at 10 under after carding a 6 under 66 in round two.
Alabama individual William Jennings and Louisiana individual Malan Potgieter are tied for second at 8 under par.
Arizona State’s Connor Williams, Auburn’s Josiah Gilbert, and Vanderbilt’s Jon Ed Steed share fourth at 7 under overall.
Vanderbilt’s Will Hartman and Auburn’s Jackson Koivun are tied for seventh at 6 under, while UCLA’s Baylor Larrabee and BYU’s Kihei Akina sit tied for ninth at 5 under par.
