SMU Wins NCAA Waco Regional as Texas A&M’s Vanessa Borovilos Earns Medalist Honors

Southern Methodist University captured the NCAA Waco Regional title at Ridgewood Country Club, finishing at 17 under across three rounds to secure the team championship and advance to the NCAA Championship.

Texas A&M University finished second at 11 under, while Baylor University climbed into third at even par following a final round 6 under performance. Louisiana State University placed fourth at 1 over, and University of Tennessee secured the final qualifying spot at 7 over.

University of Tulsa also finished at 7 over but fell short in the tiebreaker for the final advancing position. Oregon placed seventh at 9 over, while TCU finished eighth at 14 over. Colorado ended the week at 34 over, Tarleton State finished at 37 over, Prairie View A&M placed 11th at 99 over, and Northern Arizona did not record a team score.

Texas A&M’s Vanessa Borovilos earned medalist honors at 10 under after rounds of 68, 71, and 67. TCU’s Kirstin Angosta finished second at 6 under to advance individually to the NCAA Championship.

LSU’s Francesca Fiorellini, SMU teammates Celine Chen and Kirra St. Laurent, and Oregon’s Kiara Romero tied for third at 5 under.

Baylor’s Bridget Boczar finished seventh at 4 under, while Tulsa’s Samantha Olson and Tennessee’s Kyra Van Kan tied for eighth at 3 under. Texas A&M’s Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio rounded out the top 10 at 2 under.
