Pepperdine secured the West Coast Conference Men’s Golf Championship with a 4-1 win over Oregon State in the match play final at Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield, California. The victory marks back to back conference titles for the Waves.

Pepperdine, the No. 2 seed, advanced to the final earlier in the day with a 4-1 semifinal win over Augusta. Oregon State reached the championship match after a 3-2 win over top seeded San Diego.

In the final, Pepperdine struck first as Brady Siravo earned a 1 up win over Nguyen Anh Minh. Oregon State responded with Stanley Lin’s 4 and 3 victory over Mahanth Chirravuri to even the match.

Willy Walsh gave Pepperdine the lead again with a 2 and 1 win over Collin Hodgkinson. The match turned on the closing holes, where Carson Kim delivered the decisive point. Kim reached the final hole all square with Antoine Jasmin before sticking his approach close and converting a short birdie putt to win 1 up and clinch the title.

Byungho Lee added another point moments later with a 2 and 1 win over Rylan Johnson to extend the margin.

Pepperdine’s path to the title included semifinal points from Chirravuri, Siravo, Walsh, and Lee in the win over Augusta. Oregon State’s semifinal victory featured a late deciding moment from Hodgkinson, who secured the clinching point on the final hole to send the Beavers into the championship match.

With the win, Pepperdine earns the conference’s automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals.
