North Florida Wins ASUN Championship, Castaldi Secures Individual Title
The Atlantic Sun Conference Women’s Golf Championship concluded at Dothan Country Club in Dothan, Alabama, with North Florida finishing atop the leaderboard to claim the team title.
North Florida closed at 20 under following rounds of 10 under, 18 under, and 8 over to secure the win. Stetson finished second at 6 over, while Florida Gulf Coast placed third at 7 over. Central Arkansas took fourth at 19 over, with Lipscomb rounding out the top five at 24 over.
Austin Peay State finished sixth at 33 over, followed by West Georgia at 47 over and Eastern Kentucky at 48 over. North Alabama placed ninth at 50 over, and Bellarmine completed the top 10 at 55 over.
In the individual standings, North Florida’s Brianna Castaldi earned medalist honors at 9 under with rounds of 5 under, 5 under, and 1 over. Stetson’s Isaki Sakashita finished second at 7 under, followed by Florida Gulf Coast’s Amelie Alcantara in third at 5 under.
North Florida’s Braydn Smith and Kaitlyn Schroeder tied for fourth at 3 under. Florida Gulf Coast’s Sydney Deal placed sixth at 1 under, while North Florida’s Mohea Mansbendel finished seventh at even par.
Stetson’s Ailsa Brannock and Austin Peay State’s Jordin Cowing tied for eighth at 1 over. Central Arkansas’ Alethea Paige Gaccion rounded out the top 10 at 2 over.
