Texas Wins Ford Collegiate, Auburn’s Koivun Secures Playoff Victory

The Ford Collegiate concluded at The Ford Field and River Club in Richmond Hill, Georgia, with Texas capturing the team title and Auburn’s Jackson Koivun earning medalist honors after a playoff.

Texas finished at 43 under with rounds of 272, 274, and 275. Auburn placed second at 32 under, followed by LSU at 14 under. Wake Forest finished fourth at 13 under.

Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern tied for fifth at 11 under. Notre Dame placed seventh at 10 under, followed by Georgia at 7 under. Oklahoma finished ninth at 4 under, and South Carolina rounded out the top ten at even par.

In the individual standings, Koivun defeated Texas’ Christiaan Maas on the first playoff hole after both players finished at 13 under. Koivun closed with rounds of 70, 67, and 66, highlighted by a 29 on the back nine in the final round to force the playoff. He recorded seven birdies across a 10 hole stretch to secure the win.

The victory marked Koivun’s fifth individual win of the season and the 10th of his collegiate career.

Koivun is positioned as a leading candidate for the Fred Haskins Award this season, which would mark his second time earning the honor. He is also the current frontrunner for SEC Player of the Year, which would be his third consecutive selection.

Maas matched Koivun at 13 under with rounds of 71, 66, and 66. Texas’ Matt Comegys and South Carolina’s Frankie Harris tied for third at 11 under, while Texas’ Luke Potter finished fifth at 9 under.

A group of five players tied for sixth at 8 under, including Auburn’s Cayden Pope, Oklahoma’s Jase Summy, Wake Forest’s Jakob Melin, Georgia’s Grayson Wood, and Notre Dame’s Nate Stevens.
