The Augusta National Women’s Amateur returns April 1 through April 4 with one of the strongest fields in amateur golf. The seventh edition of the championship will feature 72 players representing 23 countries and six continents, including 48 of the top 50 players in the Women’s World Amateur Golf Ranking.
The opening two rounds will be played at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, Georgia. The top 30 players and ties will advance to the final round at Augusta National Golf Club on April 4 following a practice round on April 3.
World No. 1 Kiara Romero headlines the field entering her third appearance at the event. The Oregon junior has five career collegiate wins and a scoring average under 70 this season. She is joined by a group of top ranked contenders that includes Stanford’s Paula Martin Sampedro and Andrea Revuelta, Texas standout Farah O’Keefe, and Sweden’s Meja Ortengren.
Stanford arrives with one of the most notable groupings in the field, placing four players inside the top five of the world rankings. Megha Ganne, the reigning U.S. Women’s Amateur champion, returns for her sixth appearance after setting the tournament scoring record at Champions Retreat in 2025 with an opening round 63.
Asterisk Talley enters as one of the most compelling players in the field after finishing runner up in 2025. The 17 year old has already reached multiple USGA championship finals and continues to climb the world rankings.
Additional contenders include Maria Jose Marin of Arkansas, the 2025 NCAA individual champion, and Eila Galitsky of South Carolina, who recorded a 66 in the final round at Augusta National last year. Rianne Malixi of Duke also returns after a strong start to her collegiate career, including a course record performance earlier this season.
Two past champions are in the field with Tsubasa Kajitani, the 2021 winner, and Anna Davis, who captured the title in 2022 at age 16. Both bring experience at Augusta National, where familiarity can play a significant role on the final day.
The championship will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play with a sudden death playoff if needed.
