NC State Finishes Strong to Capture Michael A Marino Classic Title

NC State earned the team title at the Michael A Marino Classic at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club, finishing at 15 under 849 (284, 280, 285) to secure a four shot victory.

The Wolfpack were the only team in the field to finish under par in all three rounds and separated themselves on the final day with a 3 under 285.

No. 33 Louisville placed second at 11 under, while Charleston and Coastal Carolina tied for third at 3 under.

In the individual competition, Louisville’s Cooper Claycomb and Coastal Carolina’s Max Bengtsson shared medalist honors at 10 under 206.

Brady Smith of Louisville finished third at 9 under, while NC State sophomore Xander Goboy led the team with a tie for fourth at 8 under. Teammate Pearce Lewin added a sixth place finish at 7 under.
