West Florida moved back to the top position in the Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll released March 6 after opening the spring season with two tournament victories.
The Argonauts earned seven first place votes and 401 points to reclaim the No. 1 ranking. Their strong start included a six stroke victory at the Las Vegas Desert Classic on March 3.
Lee, which held the top spot in the previous poll, moved to No. 2 with three first place votes and 396 points.
Grand Valley State sits third with seven first place votes and 393 points. Florida Southern ranks fourth with 370 points while Wingate rounds out the top five with 344 points.
Georgia Southwestern holds the No. 6 position with 324 points followed by Central Oklahoma at No. 7 with 310 points. Catawba is ranked eighth with 277 points while St. Mary’s of Texas is ninth with 273 points. North Georgia completes the top ten with 269 points.
Columbus State is No. 11 with 228 points. Colorado Mesa and Nova Southeastern share the No. 12 position with 219 points each.
Western Washington ranks 14th, followed by Saint Leo at No. 15. CSU Pueblo sits at No. 16, while DBU enters the rankings at No. 17 after previously receiving votes.
West Texas A&M is eighteenth with 118 points, while Lincoln Memorial moves to No. 19. Barry is ranked 20th, followed by Cal State East Bay at No. 21.
Rollins holds the No. 22 position while Midwestern State enters the poll at No. 23. Central Missouri sits at No. 24, and UTPB rounds out the rankings at No. 25.
Twelve additional programs received votes, including USC Aiken, Lynn, Harding, Simon Fraser, Hawai‘i Hilo, Flagler, Lander, Missouri St. Louis, CSU Monterey Bay, Missouri S&T, Chico State, and Winona State.
The next Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll is scheduled to be released on March 27.
