Round one of the Cabo Collegiate concluded Sunday at Twin Dolphin Club in Cabo San Lucas with Oklahoma State holding the early team lead while California’s Ziqin Zhou leads the individual standings.
Oklahoma State finished the opening round at -4 to take the top position on the team leaderboard. Arizona State and Arkansas are tied for second at -3. Ole Miss, California, and Rice are tied for fourth at -2. Georgia Tech stands seventh at -1, followed by Tennessee at E. Florida State sits ninth at +1, while Stanford rounds out the top ten at +2.
Zhou recorded the low round of the day at -7 to take the individual lead for California.
Arkansas’ Gerardo Gomez, Oklahoma State’s Preston Stout, Rice’s Raines Watson, and Arkansas’ Thomas Curry are tied for second at -4.
Georgia Tech’s Aidan Tran and Benjamin Reuter are tied for sixth at -3 along with Oklahoma State’s Eric Lee, Arizona State’s Michael Mjaaseth, and Stanford’s Nathan Wang.
With one round complete, several teams remain within striking distance heading into the next round of competition at Twin Dolphin Club.
