How College Golf’s Top Honors Work and Recent Winners

College golf recognizes its top performers and leaders each spring through several major awards that highlight individual excellence, career achievement, and academic success.

The Haskins Award is given to the most outstanding men’s NCAA Division I golfer each season. Voted on by college players, coaches, sports information directors, past winners, and media members, it is widely regarded as one of the sport’s top individual honors. Recent recipients include David Ford of North Carolina in 2025 and Jackson Koivun of Auburn in 2024.

The Ben Hogan Award honors the top male collegiate golfer based on performance across NCAA competition as well as elite amateur and professional events over the previous year. Luke Clanton of Florida State earned the honor in 2025, with Koivun winning in 2024.

The Jack Nicklaus Award, presented by the Golf Coaches Association of America, recognizes the national player of the year across multiple divisions of college golf. Recent Division I winners include Ford in 2025 and Koivun in 2024.

On the women’s side, the ANNIKA Award, named for Annika Sörenstam, is presented to the top women’s NCAA Division I player each season. Mirabel Ting of Florida State was the 2025 honoree, and Ingrid Lindblad of LSU won in 2024.

The Inkster Award, administered by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association, recognizes the top women’s collegiate golfer in her final year of eligibility. Recent winners include Carolina Lopez-Chacarra of Wake Forest in 2025 and Lindblad in 2024.

Beyond scoring and competition, the Dinah Shore Trophy celebrates women’s golfers who excel both academically and athletically, including strong competitive performance, academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement. The 2025 recipient was Emma Bunch of New Mexico State, and Celina Sattelkau of Vanderbilt won in 2024.

These awards are typically announced in late May or early June to coincide with the NCAA Championships and reflect both seasonal performance and broader contributions to the sport. For more detail on each honor and recent winners, see the full guide at AmateurGolf.com.
