Round one of the Silicon Valley Amateur concluded at Stanford University Golf Course, with Dean Greyserman of Stanford setting the early pace in the championship.
Greyserman posted a six under par 64 to take the outright lead after the opening round. The Boca Raton Florida native delivered the lowest score of the day and holds a two shot advantage heading into round two.
Branden Wong, a University of California San Diego commit, sits alone in second place at four under par 66 following a steady opening round. Wong remained within reach as scoring conditions favored disciplined ball striking.
Nathan Wang of Stanford stands third at three under par 67 after an opening round that kept him firmly in contention on his home course.
Four players are tied for fourth at one under par 69. That group includes Hayden Thill of Occidental College, Jackson Suh, Edan Cui of Stanford, and Ryan Herbst of St Olaf. Each stayed within striking distance as the leaderboard tightened behind the leaders.
Christian Choi and Tristin Kim are tied for eighth at even par 70. Luca Suarez of St Andrews University rounds out the top ten at one over par 71.
Round two continues at Stanford University Golf Course with the field pursuing Greyserman at the top of the leaderboard.
