Round two of the Saguaro Amateur concluded at Ak Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona, with Matthew Hull holding the lead midway through the championship.
Hull followed his opening round 62 with a two over par 70 to move to eleven under par 132 through two rounds. The UCLA commit from Corona del Mar, California, enters the final round with a one shot advantage at the top of the leaderboard.
Owen Sawyer of Iowa State moved into second place after posting a four under par 68 in round two. Sawyer sits at ten under par 133 and remains within striking distance heading into the final day.
Four players are tied for third at nine under par 134, including Max Thomas of Sacramento State, Traejan Andrews, Landon Ashcraft a Texas A and M commit, and Alex Malanga of Sam Houston. Each player recorded a 66 or 70 in round two to stay firmly in contention.
Nilay Naik of Michigan stands alone in seventh at eight under par 135 after a second round 70.
Three players are tied for eighth at seven under par 136. That group includes Jed Choi, Parker Paxton of Colorado, and Adam Croix of Utah, who rounds out the top ten at six under par 137.
With a tightly packed leaderboard, the Saguaro Amateur heads into the final round with multiple players still in contention at Ak Chin Southern Dunes.
