Jones Cup Invitational Returns to Sea Island in January 2026

The Jones Cup Invitational will be held January 8 to 11, 2026 at Ocean Forest Golf Club at Sea Island, continuing its role as one of amateur golf’s most competitive invitationals.

Established in 2001, the Jones Cup reflects the A W Jones family’s long standing support of amateur golf. Sea Island Golf Club was founded in 1928 by the Jones family alongside Howard Coffin, and the event has since grown to include Junior and Senior Invitationals, all contested at Sea Island.

The field is selected by committee and is invite only. Selection places strong emphasis on AJGA, collegiate, PGA TOUR U, and World Amateur Golf Ranking results, along with performances in major amateur championships including the U S Amateur, U S Junior, NCAA Championship, British Amateur, Walker Cup squads, and events such as the Western Amateur and Sunnehanna Amateur.

Two past champions will return in 2026, including 2024 winner Jacob Modleski and 2011 champion John Peterson.

The field will also feature 2025 U S Amateur champion and Georgia commit Mason Howell, 2025 U S Junior champion Hamilton Coleman, and Texas senior Tommy Morrison, a member of the Walker Cup.

Additional notable competitors include Oklahoma State freshman Henry Guan, Florida State freshman Jack Bigham, LSU sophomore Arni Sveinnson who is ranked eighth in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, Texas sophomore Daniel Bennett who is ranked fifteenth, Florida junior Jack Turner ranked sixteenth, and Illinois junior Max Herendeen ranked twentieth.

Recent Jones Cup champions include Gray Albright in 2025, Jacob Modleski in 2024, David Ford in 2023, and Palmer Jackson in 2022.
