Drew Kayser Receives 2025 Labron Harris Sr Award

Boston College Head Coach and Director of Golf Drew Kayser has been selected as the 2025 recipient of the Labron Harris Sr Award, presented by the Golf Coaches Association of America in partnership with the PGA of America. The national honor is given to a college or high school coach and Class A PGA Professional whose work in teaching, coaching, and community involvement has advanced the game while upholding its core values.

The award carries the legacy of Labron Harris Sr, the longtime Oklahoma State coach who built one of the most accomplished programs in collegiate golf. Kayser becomes the twenty second recipient and the fourth coach from the Atlantic Coast Conference to earn the distinction. Recent honorees include Scott Vandegrift in 2024 and Rich Mueller in 2023.

Kayser joined Boston College Golf in 2008 as an assistant coach while also serving as Head Golf Professional at Belmont Country Club. He became the Eagles head coach in 2012 and has since elevated both programs with sustained success. Boston College has recorded the most tournament wins in its history under his leadership, including three team victories and three individual titles this season. His recruiting efforts have brought top players from New England, across the United States, and internationally.

A PGA Master Professional of Instruction, Kayser is one of two in New England and one of thirty seven nationally with Specialty Certification in Instruction. He became a PGA member in 1998 and earned Master Professional status in 2005. He was selected that year for the PGA of America Professional Golf Management Faculty, where he trained aspiring golf professionals for fourteen years.

Kayser’s recognition places him among national honorees who have demonstrated long standing commitments to player development, program leadership, and service within their communities. His continued work at Boston College reflects the principles that define the Labron Harris Sr Award.
