San Diego State senior Tyler Kowack closed the fall season with a one stroke win at the 2025 Gobbler Amateur at Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona. Kowack finished at seven under after rounds of 71, 67, and 71.
Kowack held a narrow lead entering the final round at six under, one shot ahead of Canada’s Antoine Jasmin. Jasmin opened the championship with the low round of the week, a 67, and remained in contention until a closing 73 moved him to six under and into solo second. Kowack’s steady 71 sealed the victory.
The second round featured matching 67s from Kowack, Jasmin, and Catcher Dahm. Denver senior Brayden Bozak added another strong performance with rounds of 71, 70, and 71 to secure a place near the top of the leaderboard.
This marks Kowack’s second win of the season, joining his title at the Marquette Intercollegiate. The result moves him from No. 207 to No. 178 in the AmateurGolf.com Rankings. He has now competed in sixteen ranked events in 2025, including a top ten at the Mountain West Championship.
The Gobbler Amateur, now in its tenth year, is part of the Troon Saguaro Amateur Series. Sewailo Golf Club has hosted the event each year since its inception. The Series continues next with the Coachella Amateur on December 15 to 18 at Terra Lago Golf Club in Indio, California.
