Notre Dame senior Nate Stevens has been named the Ben Hogan Award October Golfer of the Month after a standout stretch that included his first collegiate win and the highest event rating of the month.

Stevens secured the Williams Cup title at Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, North Carolina, with a seven-under total of 209. His performance was bolstered by a second-round 67 that included his third collegiate ace. The Williams Cup held the highest Clippd event strength rating of any college tournament in October.

In his second start of the month, Stevens tied for twelfth at the Fighting Irish Classic with a one-over total of 211. Across six rounds in October, he posted a 70.00 scoring average and recorded 30.7 World Amateur Golf Ranking points. His current WAGR position of 351 is the highest of his amateur career.

The monthly honor is determined by the Ben Hogan Award committee, which includes representatives from the Ben Hogan Foundation, Friends of Golf, and selected partners. The final vote incorporates a social media fan vote, in which the leading vote-getter on each platform receives an additional committee vote. Stevens was selected over finalists Bryan Kim of Duke and Yixiang Wang of Memphis.

The Ben Hogan Award Presented by Baird recognizes the top collegiate golfer across all college, amateur, and professional competitions over a twelve-month window. The 2026 award cycle spans from the 2025 NCAA Championships through the 2026 NCAA Regionals. The award has been presented annually at Colonial Country Club since 2002, with its origins dating to 1990 at Bel Air Country Club in Los Angeles.
