Interview Highlights with CGN
Early path and sport choice
Beauchamp grew up in Connecticut and New Jersey, first taking swings with his father on a hole near their home. Soccer was his main sport through age thirteen, but after moving to Texas he chose golf for its individual challenge and rapid improvement in his game.
Coaching influence
Early work with a Texas coach built his foundation, followed by long term guidance from his current swing coach, Joey. Their focus over the years has included moderating tee shots and refining his short game.
Why TCU
Beauchamp wanted to stay close to home and maintain regular access to coaching. Early contact from the TCU staff and a formative day playing with the team as a young player made the decision clear.
Mindset shift
A major improvement came when he learned to play golf rather than over manage mechanics during rounds. Visualization and trusting his athletic instincts helped produce his best collegiate stretches.
On handling adversity
He recalled a late double bogey on a drivable par four in Hawaii, explaining how he separated emotion from analysis, adjusted immediately, and finished the round strong.
Goals
The team’s goal is to reach the national championship. Individually, he aims to build on his consistency while staying process focused and avoiding fixation on rankings.
